The Call to Prayer

Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise;* give thanks to him and call upon his Name.
Psalm 100:3

The Request for Presence

Satisfy us by your loving-kindness in the morning* so shall we rejoice and be glad all the days of our life.
Psalm 90:14

The Greeting

I will give thanks to you, O LORD, with my whole heart;* I will tell of all your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in you;* I will sing your Name, O Most High.
Psalm 9:1-2

The Refrain for the Morning Lessons

In God the LORD, whose word I praise, in God I trust and will not be afraid,* for what can mortals do to me?
Psalm 56:10

A Reading

Jesus taught his disciples, saying: 'This is why I am telling you not to worry about your life and what you are to eat, nor about your body and how you clothe it. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Think of ravens. They do not sow or reap; they have no store houses and no barns; yet God feeds them. And how much more are you worth than the birds! Can any of you, however much you worry, add a single cubit to your span of life? If a very small thing is beyond your powers, why worry about the rest? Think how the flowers grow; they never have to spin or weave; yet, I assure you not even Solomon in all his royal robes was clothed like one of them. Now if that is how God clothes a flower which is growing wild today and is thrown in the furnace tomorrow, how much more will he look after you, who have so little faith! But you must not set your hearts on things to eat and things to drink; nor must you worry. It is the gentiles of the world who set their hearts on all these things. Your Father well knows you need them. No, set your hearts on his kingdom, and these other things will be given you as well.'
Luke 12:22-31

The Refrain

In God the LORD, whose word I praise, in God I trust and will not be afraid,* for what can mortals do to me?

The Morning Psalm

You Have Made Me Glad by Your Acts, O LORD

It is a good thing to give thanks to the LORD,* and to sing praises to your Name, O Most High; To tell of your loving-kindness early in the morning* and of your faithfulness in the night season; On the psaltery, and on the lyre,* and to the melody of the harp. For you have made me glad by your acts, O LORD;* and I shout for joy because of the works of your hands.
Psalm 92:1-4

The Refrain

In God the LORD, whose word I praise, in God I trust and will not be afraid,* for what can mortals do to me?

The Gloria

Glory be to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, so it is now and so it shall ever be, world without end. Alleluia. Amen.

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your Name. May your kingdom come, and your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for yours are the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

The Prayer Appointed for the Week

Lord, make me have perpetual love and reverence for your holy Name, for you never fail to help and govern those whom you have set upon the sure foundation of your loving-kindness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

The Concluding Prayer of the Church

Lord God, almighty and everlasting Father, you have brought me in safety to this new day: Preserve me with your mighty power, that I may not fall into sin, nor be overcome by adversity; and in all I do direct me to the fulfilling of your purpose; through Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen.
