The Call to Prayer

Come, let us sing to the LORD;* let us shout for joy to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving* and raise a loud shout to him with psalms.
Psalm 95:1-2

The Request for Presence

Show us the light of your countenance, O God,* and come to us.
based on Psalm 67:1

The Greeting

To you I lift up my eyes,* to you enthroned in the heavens. As the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters,* and the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, So our eyes look to the LORD our God,* until he shows us his mercy.
Psalm 123:1-3

The Refrain for the Morning Lessons

I will bear witness that the LORD is righteous;* I will praise the Name of the LORD Most High.
Psalm 7:18

A Reading

In my earlier work, Theophilus, I dealt with everything Jesus had done and taught from the beginning until the day he gave his instructions to the apostles he had chosen through the Holy Spirit, and was taken up to heaven. He had shown himself alive to them after his Passion by many demonstrations: for forty days he had continued to appear to them and tell them about the kingdom of God. While at table with them, he had told them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait there for what the Father had promised. 'It is,' he had said, 'what you have heard me speak about: John baptized with water but, not many days from now, you are going to be baptized with the Holy Spirit.'
Acts 1:1-5

The Refrain

I will bear witness that the LORD is righteous;* I will praise the Name of the LORD Most High.

The Morning Psalm

The LORD Will Not Break His Oath to David

Arise, O LORD, into your resting-place,* you and the ark of your strength. Let your priests be clothed with righteousness;* let your faithful people sing with joy. For your servant David's sake,* do not turn away the face of your Anointed. The LORD has sworn an oath to David;* in truth, he will not break it: "Ason, the fruit of your body* will I set upon your throne. If your children keep my covenant and my testimonies that I shall teach them,* their children will sit upon your throne for evermore."
Psalm 132:8-13

The Refrain

I will bear witness that the LORD is righteous;* I will praise the Name of the LORD Most High.

The Small Verse

Keep me, Lord, as the apple of your eye and carry me under the shadow of your wings.
Traditional

The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be your Name. May your kingdom come, and your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for yours are the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

The Prayer Appointed for the Week

Remember, O Lord, what you have wrought in us and not what we deserve; and, as you have called me to your service, make me worthy of your calling; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. &#8224

The Concluding Prayer of the Church

Lord God, almighty and everlasting Father, you have brought me in safety to this new day: Preserve me with your mighty power, that I may not fall into sin, nor be overcome by adversity; and in all I do direct me to the fulfilling of your purpose; through Jesus Christ my Lord. Amen. &#8224
