Language Localization
Pastoral care, in your congregation’s language.
A single church, two congregations under one roof — one worships in English, one in Spanish — and the same staff serve both. CareNote spoke only English, so half the people it was built to serve were reading an interface in a language that was not theirs.
CareNote now speaks your congregation’s language. Set a default for your whole team, and let any member switch their own view. We are launching with Spanish and Dutch — chosen because real churches asked for them.

Northside Community Church
“We have an English-speaking congregation and a Spanish-speaking congregation, and staff who serve both. Could you bring CareNote into Spanish?”
The request that started CareNote localization.
How It Works
One language for the team, a choice for every member.
Set a default in Team Settings, and let anyone who logs in switch to the language they read best — all without leaving CareNote.
Open Team Settings
As a site administrator, open CareNote Settings → Team Settings. Language sits right at the top.
Pick your team’s language
Every team starts in English. Switch the whole team to Spanish or Dutch with a single setting — no per-person setup.
Refresh and it’s translated
Save, refresh, and the navigation, labels, and headings across CareNote appear in the language you chose.
Let members choose their own
Any user who logs in can switch their own language to English, Spanish, or Dutch right from their profile.
A personal choice always wins
When a member sets their own language, CareNote always respects it — their choice overrides the team default.
Refined in partnership
Translations were made with care and keep improving alongside native speakers and partner churches.
The Difference
From one language to a language for everyone.
An English-only tool asks your people to adapt. Localized CareNote adapts to your people.
English, or nothing
CareNote spoke one language. Bilingual staff made it work, but Spanish- and Dutch-speaking team members were reading an interface that was never in their own words — and for some churches, that was reason enough not to adopt it.
- One language for everyone
- Native speakers left out
- A barrier to adopting CareNote at all
A language for every member
Set a default for the team and let each person choose their own. The same care system, read in the language each member actually thinks and prays in.
- Team default set in one place
- Per-member override, always respected
- Spanish and Dutch today, more to come
Why It Matters
Built so every member is cared for in their own words.
Localization touches the whole application, set at the level that fits — your team, or each person.
Two languages at launch
Spanish and Dutch — chosen because real churches asked for them, not a generic list of locales.
One setting for the team
Choose a default language for your whole team. New teams start in English; switch everyone with a single change.
A per-member override
Any member can set their own language independent of the team — built for bilingual staff serving two congregations.
Personal choice respected
When a user picks a language, CareNote always honors it over the team default. No surprises on the next login.
Translated across the app
Navigation, labels, headings, and messages throughout CareNote — not just a handful of buttons.
Translated with care
Real effort and real review — refined with native speakers so the words land the way your people would say them.
Ready for more languages
The groundwork is laid. Adding the next language is a translation, not a rebuild — so CareNote can keep expanding.
Built from real requests
Spanish for U.S. multilingual congregations; Dutch for a church in the Netherlands. Partnership, made into a feature.
Woven through your care system
Localization is not a translation layer bolted on top — it is woven through CareNote itself. Set it once for your team or per person, and the whole application — navigation, labels, headings, and messages — speaks the language you chose.
